Hi there, Petrina, and a very warm welcome to planDisney!
Thank you for stopping by with your great question. What an exciting and very special visit you have in the works to the Happiest Place on Earth soon! The end of August is one of my family's favorite times of year to visit Disneyland, for so many reasons, but especially for the opportunity to experience the frightfully fun Halloween season, including Oogie Boogie Bash!
You are correct that the first date of
Oogie Boogie Bash is scheduled for August 17 and
Halloween Time is scheduled to officially begin August 22 and, with that, the opening of
Haunted Mansion Holiday, according to the Disneyland website.
I encourage you, Petrina, to check the
Daily Events Schedule on the Disneyland website as your visit gets closer. The Daily Events Schedule is an incredibly helpful resource, providing entertainment schedules, attraction closure information, park hours, as well as the events occurring during your visit. Make sure you've selected your specific dates and park at the top.
All that said, it's important to know that the entertainment schedule can change at any time.
If you're interested in attending the Oogie Boogie Bash after-hours party in California Adventure Park, Petrina, I should mention that it does require a separate ticket, so make sure to be following the
Disney Parks Blog and
Disneyland's Instagram account so you don't miss announcements about when tickets will go on sale. It's a very popular event! My son and I had so much fun at Oogie Boogie Bash last year dressed as Jack and Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas (just like Haunted Mansion Holiday). We especially loved the exclusive Frightfully Fun Parade featuring the real Jack and Sally, the hauntingly beautiful Villains Grove, and lower wait times for attractions.
I hope this information has been helpful for you in your planning, Petrina. If you have any additional questions about your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, or you'd like me to share some of my tips and recommendations for a truly magical visit, please stop by again and
ask me another question. I'm always happy to chat about Disneyland - anytime.
Warmest wishes,
McCayla
