Hi Lindsey,
Yes, I find it very frustrating about the Disney Visa Card not being available to us Canadians as well.....I would love to have one with Tinkerbell (what a magical way to spend money), and some of those perks sound so wonderful, oh well! As far as "special" discounts for Canadians only, I really have not seen anything like this apart from once in a blue moon you may come across a special "
at par" rate if you visit the Canadian version of the WDW website (
www.disneyworld.ca). Our dollar is quite strong right now, but I remember not too long ago that this "at par" deal saved us quite a lot of money and this would be one thing to keep an eye out for! There may be other (trustworthy) options out there for just Canadians, but I am not aware of them, if you find some...let me know!
One other thing I should mention that can give you great savings (but is for everyone, not just Canadians) would be the Annual Pass. This is good if you go to WDW and need Park admission for more than 10 days, or if you are a frequent visitor to WDW like I am. There are no blackout dates (although you cannot use it for "special separate ticket events") and there are many benefits you will receive with it . One of these would be reductions on resort rates throughout the year at WDW as well as discounts on merchandise and food at select locations and select recreational activities. With the Annual Pass you can also purchase the Disney Dining Experience Card (currently this card is $60.00 for Annual Passholders only...and well worth it in my opinion). It will give you 20% off at many locations of restaurants throughout WDW and alcoholic beverages are included in this discount! The Disney Vacation Club offers some great discounts and benefits as well, but this is a bit more of an expensive venture and not a quick bargain deal as I think you would be looking for! Have a magical day!
Best wishes,
Brigitta
