Are there on-site shipping services where I could ship purchased items to my house to minimize luggage on the plane flight home? Many larger hotels have on-site FedEx offices, but I've seen no mention of this on the Disney website.

    Hi Phil,

This is a great question!  With luggage fees being high, and restrictions on carry-on items, it is certainly appealing to ship items directly home from Walt Disney World.

I actually had some items shipped home on a recent vacation.  I purchased eight fragile wine glasses at the World of Disney, and instead of dealing with trying to get them home myself, I simply asked the cast member at the register if my items could be shipped home.  I paid for the shipping, filled out a ticket, and a little over a week later the box arrived at my door with the items wrapped for safe shipping.

Many of the stores at Walt Disney World offer this ship-to-home service, you simply need to ask at the register.  If you have items to ship home that you did not purchase at a Walt Disney World merchandise location, you can visit the business centers at one of the Walt Disney World resorts for assistance shipping your packages home.  These are located in the resorts that have convention centers attached: Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Villas, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, and Disney's Yacht Club Resort.

My fellow Disney Parks Moms Panelist Erin wrote a great blog post with a lot of detail about shipping items home from Walt Disney World.  You can find it by going to blog.touringplans.com and searching for "shipping merchandise."  The article about moving merchandise should be the first one that comes up in the search results.  It has information both about shipping packages directly from Walt Disney World merchandise locations as well as using the business centers.

I hope that this information is helpful for you, Phil!  Have a wonderful time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
