Hi Christine, I'm so glad you and your family are headed over to the magic on the east coast! I personally think that you should absolutely go to Magic Kingdom for at least one day. While there are a lot of duplicate attractions to Disneyland, many of them are slightly different. On top of that, there are also attractions and shows that you cannot find at Disneyland. Here is a list of some attractions that are simliar, yet have a different perspective/experience:
