Hello, Scott! Thanks for stopping by with your question. I'm always more excited than Chef Remy in the kitchen when I can answer a question from a fellow resident of the Keystone state!
Scott, depending on the
Disney Resorts Collection hotel that you've booked, you are welcome to use the
Online Check-In feature to request the ground floor in a specific location. For example, I'll be traveling to the Most Magical Place on Earth next month and just completed my Online Check-in for
Disney's Pop Century Resort. During my Online Check-In process, Disney's Pop Century Resort offers "ground floor" in the drop-down menu choices as well as the option for the "50s section" or "70s section" (for a standard room). In this case you would be able to request both a specific area and a ground floor location (since you can submit two requests). However, not all Disney Resorts Collection hotels offer the same drop down menu options. If you don't see the "ground floor" option OR the specific area of the resort you're looking for when you complete your Online Check-In, you are welcome to
call in and ask that your request be noted on your reservation. While this does take some extra time, it might be worth the phone call if your dream is a specific room location. Make sure to have your reservation confirmation number handy before you call in.
Scott, I hope this information is helpful as you are planning ahead for your November visit! Since you'll be just in time to experience
the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, I encourage you to take a few minutes to read about what's in store to commemorate and celebrate this occasion!
Please come on back to planDisney with any additional questions.
Wishing you a pixie dusted stay,
Lauren
