If I did Online Check-In and was assigned boarding group 21, but then booked the shuttle from my Disney World hotel to get to the terminal earlier, do I still have to wait for my boarding group to board the ship?

Ahoy there, Erick! Welcome back to planDisney!

Completing your Online Check-In is always such an exciting venture because it means you’re so close to sailing on your Disney cruise! One of the most exciting parts for me of the Online Check-In process is getting that Port Arrival Time at the very end, because I start imagining my family being welcomed aboard! I would be happy to share more about your Port Arrival Time and the process for your arrival at the port.

If you booked Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation from your Walt Disney World Resort hotel after completing your Online Check-In, Disney Cruise Line is aware of your new plans. The Port Arrival Time that was assigned to you during your Online Check-In is no longer needed, and you can expect a different Port Arrival Time that will be based on your new arrival using the Disney Cruise Line Ground Transportation.

Between 24 and 48 hours before the day you embark on your cruise, you will receive an email from Disney Cruise Line with meeting time instructions for your Ground Transportation at your Disney World hotel. While not guaranteed, in my experience, this has been in the lobby between the hours of 9 AM and 10 AM. Your official time and meeting place will be in the email.

Your luggage will be picked up from your Disney World hotel room on the morning of embarkation, using the luggage tags mailed to you, before you meet your Ground Transportation. In my experience, this has been between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM, so I advise you to have your luggage ready to go around that time. Your official luggage pick-up time will also be in the email from Disney Cruise Line.

I also want to remind you to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App in preparation for your cruise. It’s going to be your best friend on board, with your Rotational Dining schedule, deck plans, activity plans and locations, and so much more!

Erick, I hope that I offered clarification about your Port Arrival Time to get you on board that super fun Disney cruise! I wish you the most magical memories during your sailing! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.
