Hello Alexandra, and thanks for sending another great question our way. We love it when our Guests come back to chat with us!
I am a huge fan of
Disney Gift Cards, and my family and friends know there is no birthday or holiday present I'd rather get than some Mickey Mouse money! While you cannot link a Disney Gift Card to your My Disney Experience account for
online check-in and charging purposes, I'll share how I use them on vacation to conveniently cover my expenses.
As soon as I arrive and unpack in my resort hotel room, I store my Disney Gift Cards and other valuables in my in-room safe. I feel totally secure when I stay in a hotel in the
Disney Resorts Collection, but I use the safe so I don't misplace any essentials. When I head out to visit the theme parks, I tap my
MagicBand for purchases that are then charged to my resort room. Near the end of my stay, I visit the front desk to pay down my balance with Disney Gift Cards. The key is to pay off your charges the afternoon or evening before your departure; Disney will charge the credit card on file before sunrise on your checkout day.
Another option is to use Disney Gift Cards directly in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App when using
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering or Mobile Checkout at select merchandise locations. Because a Disney Gift Card can't be stored in the mobile app, I input the gift card number and PIN into the Notes application on my iPhone, and then copy and paste the numbers into the My Disney Experience Mobile App when I'm on the payment screen.
I hope this gives you some ideas for using your Disney Gift Cards on your upcoming vacation, Alexandra. It's always comforting to know I've got many of my expenses covered by gift cards before my adventure even begins. Thanks again for stopping by, and we'll see ya real soon!
