You can add the
Disney Genie+ Service to a ticket either at the point of purchase or after you scan your ticket and enter your first park.
If you haven't purchased your
theme park tickets yet, then I would recommend adding them on at that point - then you don't need to worry about it and it'll be ready to go as soon as you enter your first park during your visit.
If you've already purchased your tickets, then you'll be able to add it on through the
Disneyland mobile app right after you enter your first park at the start of your trip. You'll see a banner for the Disney Genie+ Service on your app's home screen and can follow the prompts to add it on if you do this method.
During my most recent visit, we didn't prepurchase the Disney Genie+ Service because we weren't sure when we'd arrive on the first day and if it'd be worth it. We ended up getting to the parks earlier than we initially anticipated and added on the service through the mobile app that I outlined above and it was quick and easy! We were then able to secure a great
Lightning Lane return time for
Haunted Mansion Holiday - my little guy's favorite.
One additional option that I always strongly recommend is the
Park Hopper option! This option lets you hop between both parks starting at 11:00 AM and offers way more flexibility to a trip. It's always a must-have for me when I visit!
