Hi Bonnie,
Welcome to planDisney! It's always great to assist a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member, thanks for asking a question about
Waitlists today. It looks like you're planning a vacation in the New Year; I love to visit
Walt Disney World Resort in January! It's an escape to a warmer place for me and I absolutely adore heading to EPCOT and experiencing the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. While the dates for 2025 have not yet been released, keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for an update. January is not very far away so let's hop right to it and discuss waitlists.
There have been times when I wanted to book a stay at a DVC resort, but the type of accommodation I was looking for wasn’t available. In those cases, I would reserve my second choice and place a waitlist request for the accommodation I truly wanted. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate, as my waitlisted accommodations have often become available.
DVC Members can hold up to two active Waitlists per Membership each Use Year, and these Waitlists can be for different dates or the same ones. They remain active until 31 or 7 days before your check-in date, based on your preference. You can adjust the expiration date of your Waitlist by logging into your DVC account and navigating to the "My Dashboard" section. If your Waitlist is fulfilled, you'll receive an email notifying you that your original reservation has been canceled, followed by another email confirming your new reservation.
Bonnie, I hope you’re able to secure the perfect reservation for your travel party by joining a Waitlist, wish upon a start that it comes through for you! If you have any other planning questions or need more DVC advice, please don’t hesitate to revisit us at planDisney. We’re always here to help!
Welcome Home,
Candace
