Hi Kaitlin, welcome to planDisney!
Planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is a team sport. On my family's multigenerational trips, my mother-in-law uses her Disney Vacation Club membership to book our lodging. My father-in-law purchases our
Disney Military Salute Tickets and links them to everyone in My Disney Experience. I'm the spreadsheet queen in charge of making our advance reservations for dining
online 60 days in advance. My husband enjoys perusing menus and placing
Mobile Food and Beverage Orders for Quick Service meals during our park days. I purchase
Disney Genie+ service on select park days, but my husband and I take turns booking Genie+ Lightning Lane reservations throughout the day. My kids love using my phone to check wait times in the
My Disney Experience mobile app and taking silly selfies with
Disney PhotoPass Lenses. Teamwork really does make the dream work!
A
My Disney Experience account is the digital hub that houses an individual's vacation entitlements (Disney Resort hotel reservation, tickets(s), dining reservations, Disney PhotoPass images, etc.) Each Guest in your travel party should have their own My Disney Experience account or a My Disney Experience account profile managed by another person's account. I manage the My Disney Experience accounts of my children because they are under the age of 13 and cannot have their own accounts. I manage the My Disney Experience accounts of my parents because they prefer to unplug during our Disney vacations. A person with a My Disney Experience account profile appears with the words "Plans managed by _____" on your
Family & Friends list.
Only one person may manage a My Disney Experience account profile; however, multiple persons can view and make plans for that person if they are connected as
Family & Friends. For example, my father-in-law can link my children's tickets to their account profiles and my husband can book Genie+ Lightning Lanes for them, even though I officially manage my children's account profiles.
Here are a few things only the manager of a My Disney Experience account profile can do: download that person's
Disney MagicMobile pass, change the character associated with the account profile, and manage their
MagicBands (activate/deactivate, report as lost, etc.) As a workaround, Disney MagicMobile passes can be
shared via Apple iMessage with eligible iPhones using the My Disney Experience mobile app.
I hope this information illustrates how your planning team can work together on your upcoming trip, Kaitlin. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me
directly with any follow-up questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
