Can one parent use fastpass for a show and save seats for the rest of the family. One child is riding rides and my other son is only 1. Our plan was to try to leverage this technique if able.

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Chris.

The three daily complimentary FastPass+ reservations each Walt Disney World Resort Guest receives with their Theme Park tickets are definitely an effective way to maximize your time in the Parks while hopefully ensuring you and your family will get to experience some of your favorite attractions with little-to-no wait. Unfortunately, though, the only way to enter the FastPass+ queue for an attraction or the FastPass+ reserved seating area for shows and entertainment experiences such as For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration or Fantasmic! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Festival of the Lion King, Finding Nemo - The Musical or Rivers of Light: We Are One at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park (just to name a few examples) is for each member of your Party to have a FastPass+ reservation for that attraction or show.

For most of the shows throughout Walt Disney World Resort, Guests are asked to fill in all available seats and space as they enter the auditorium or performance space. To make the experience enjoyable for everyone, this means no skipping or saving seats for Guests who may arrive later.

Your one-year-old, of course, is a Guest of Mickey Mouse himself, so (s)he won’t need a Theme Park ticket or FastPass+ reservations to join the rest of the family. For your spouse and other child, though, they would each need to have their own FastPass+ reservations and be able to enter with you when you’re ready to take your seats.

I hope this answers your question, Chris! Please let us know if you have any other questions or if there are any other suggestions we can offer about how to make the most of your Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We hope to see you real soon!
