Hi! We have a one night stay at Disneys hotel, and we are going to the park the day we check in and day we check out. How early can we check in, or do we leave our stuff in our car and come back for it once we can check in? And at check out time?

    Hi there, Linda!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for popping in to ask us a question about the Disneyland Resort. I bet you’re getting excited for the adventures ahead of you, especially if this will be your first stay at The Happiest Place on Earth!

You’re welcome to check-in at your Disneyland Resort Hotel anytime on your arrival day, but please keep in mind that your room won’t be available until close to 3:00 p.m. If your room is not yet ready, you can either leave your luggage in your vehicle for retrieval later or store your items with Bell Services before heading out to enjoy the theme parks. They’ll count your bags and give you a claim ticket with a number that you’ll use to have your belongings brought to your room once you’re settled. I always take a photo of this claim ticket just in case!

Have you heard about the optional Online Check-In service available to Guests staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels? To utilize this, sign in to your MyDisney account within five days of your check-in date via the web or in the Disneyland mobile app. You will verify your reservation details, give your contact information, and provide a credit card to be stored on file for your stay. Then, once you arrive at the resort, you have the option of using the Direct-to-Room service instead of visiting the Front Desk so you can head straight to a theme park for some pixie-dusted fun! When your room is ready that afternoon, the app will display your room number and allow you to unlock your room with a digital key.

When you’re ready to check out the next morning, you can load your luggage into your vehicle yourself or call Bell Services and a Cast Member will come to your room and take the bags to be stored until you’re ready to depart. There is no additional fee for storing your luggage, but please keep in mind that tipping is customary when getting assistance from Bell Services. When a Cast Member handles my luggage, like storing it or bringing it up to my room, I typically tip $1 to $2 per bag depending on how heavy or cumbersome they are to handle.

I hope this information helps, Linda. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to write back and ask!

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
