Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Elizabeth. I am so excited to hear you're planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort with your little one in tow! There is little better than experiencing the magic of Disney storytelling with a toddler in your lap. Oh, the memories you'll make!
Two of my kiddos made their first visits to see Mickey Mouse when they were both about a year old. When my son met Mickey for the first time, I nearly melt into a puddle! He was just squealing with glee and excitement. We had to practically peel our little guy off our pal Mickey when it was time to go! When my daughter met Mickey for the first time, however, it was a much different experience. That little girl screamed, cried, and shook with fear. For the rest of our vacation, she was only comfortable with Character interactions from a very healthy distance. Isn't it funny how two kids can be so different?
To answer your question, Character meet and greets
are currently paused for health and safety considerations. That's not to say you won't be able to interact with your favorite Disney Characters when you visit the
Walt Disney World Resort this Spring, though! You can expect to spot beloved Characters in each of the four theme parks. You may see Winnie the Pooh out chasing butterflies in a garden at Epcot or Timon cruising down
Discovery River at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Your little one will especially love waving to popular
Characters along parade routes in Magic Kingdom Park,
EPCOT, and
Disney's Hollywood Studios. These spontaneous cavalcades are filled with fun and fantasy for the whole family!
Character Dining Experiences are a must-do for my family's Disney vacations. I appreciate these meals because my kids fill their tummies AND see their favorite Disney pals, all in one place! These unique dining experiences are currently modified in that Characters are not stopping by each table, but they are circulating through the restaurant and making sure that all Guests are having a good time. I bet your family would enjoy a reservation at
Chef Mickey's as much as mine does! At Chef Mickey's, Mouseketeers under the age of 3 can share from the all-you-care-to-eat family-style meal at no charge. How great is that?
Be sure to check out the
Know Before You Go section of the Walt Disney World Resort website. It has lots of important information about the health and safety measures being taken in
and out of the theme parks!
I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth. Please let me know if you have any other questions about traveling with your little one!
