One of my favorite things to do at the parks is see the characters (as many as possible). Will Disneyland have extra Star Wars characters for Season of the Force? And will they publish a list of Star Wars Nite characters ahead of time? Same for Pixar Fest?

    Hey there, Tyler!

Thanks for bringing another question to planDisney. I hope you’re having a blast planning all the details of your Disneyland Resort vacation!

As you may have heard, Season of the Force will return to Disneyland Park from April 5 to June 2, 2024. There will be so much extra magic to enjoy during this time, including Space Mountain transforming into Hyperspace Mountain, themed food and beverage offerings, exclusive merchandise, limited-time entertainment, and more! Plus, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will introduce a new destination and include transmissions from characters featured on recent Disney+ series, such as Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, Cassian Andor, and Din Djarin. Guests in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be able to join the search for Din Djarn, Grogu, and more with a special holopuck Magic Shot from Disney PhotoPass Service that will be available only during Season of the Force!

Star Wars Nite is a great place to spot rarely-seen characters. This after-hours event will take place on select dates from April 16 through May 9, 2024 at Disneyland Park. A full list of characters isn’t likely to be released before the parties begin, but exclusive Star Wars characters will surely be on hand for the multiple themed photo opportunities the resort has promised, including some new places and faces from the Star Wars universe that are not usually found in the parks! The First Order will be on the hunt for a Resistance spy in Tomorrowland, so Captain Phasma and her Stormtroopers are planning to return for an appearance in Tomorrowland. In the past, the Ewoks were very popular, along with Captain Rex, Ezra, and Sabine. You may also see BB-8, Queen Amidala, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren, Rey, Darth Vader, R2-D2, and many more in various lands throughout the park based on last year’s appearances. Character lines can be long during this kind of event, especially for rare and popular characters, so be sure to prioritize your top choice!

Pixar Fest will kick off on April 26 and continue through Aug. 4, 2024, so it does overlap with Season of the Force for a short time if you’re hoping to experience both. There will be special Pixar character meet and greets, plus Pixar-themed entertainment, food, merchandise, and more. Be sure to check out the interactive Pixar-themed installation in Disney Califonia Adventure Park because your MagicBand+ can activate some pixie-dusted surprises!

An all-new parade will debut during Pixar Fest, and some of the images released to promote it include Mei and her friends from Turning Red plus their favorite boy band, 4*TOWN. Lots more Pixar characters will also be featured, including friends from Toy Story, Luca, Soul, Coco, The Incredibles, and Monsters, Inc. In addition to the usual Pixar characters that can be spotted in the park, some new characters expected to be seen during Pixar Fest include Ember and Wade from Elemental, Red Panda Mei from Turning Red, and others that are sure to surprise and delight. Check the Entertainment Schedule for parade times, and use the Disneyland mobile app to locate characters once your vacation begins!

I hope this information helps you plan, Tyler. If you have any other questions as your trip approaches, you know where to find us!

    Wishing you magic,
