I have a one day park hopper ticket reserved for Oct 12, can I change the ticket to a two day for the 12 and 13th? This single person is joining a group so I’d like it to start and California Adventure on Wednesday and Disneyland on Thursday.

    Hiya, Kara!

Adding more days at the Disneyland Resort sounds magical to me. Let’s talk about how to make that happen and a gotcha you should be aware of.

Theme park ticket upgrades can be made by visiting a Disneyland Resort ticket booth. Here are some general guidelines to remember:

    • A ticket may only be upgraded to another ticket of equal or greater value.
    • You will pay the difference between the original price paid and the current price of the upgraded ticket on the day of the upgrade.
    • Partially-used tickets with entitlements like Park Hopper or Disney Genie+ service may only be upgraded with those entitlements still in place.
    • Expired tickets may only be upgraded to current tickets if they were wholly unused.

Once a ticket is upgraded, you will still need to make theme park reservations, especially for new days being added. So please be sure to check the theme park reservation availability calendar before you decide to upgrade your ticket. Visit the "My Theme Park Reservations" page to make new reservations or to make changes to existing reservations. If park reservations are not available for the days you would like to visit, it may not work out as planned. Though, there is always a chance that reservations become available since other Guests sometimes need to reschedule their visits for other days. Note that standard multi-day tickets expire thirteen days after their first use. So you may schedule your park visits during any available days during that period.

Tony’s Tip: If you are staying at one of the three Disneyland Resort Hotels, you will have access to theme park reservations exclusively for hotel Guests. This may help make things a little easier to find available park reservations. To tap into this pool of reservations, visit the "My Hotel Reservations" page.

I hope that helps give an idea of how you may expand the magic of your visit to the Disneyland Resort, Kara. If you have any more questions, please stop by planDisney again.

    See ya’ real soon!

    ~Tony
