    We are going for one day, not staying on site. Do we need to purchase magic bands?

    The short and simple answer to your question, Angela, is no. In fact, whether you stay in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel or not, you do not need to purchase a MagicBand.

    MagicBands are more of a convenience than a necessity. In your case, since you are not staying in a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you would be able to use a MagicBand to gain entry at the theme park or connect PhotoPass images to your account. The good news, though, is that you can still enjoy contactless convenience if you have an iPhone or Apple Watch.

    Disney’s MagicMobile service harnesses the power of your smart Apple product to offer these same features. To use the service, you’ll need to make sure that your tickets are properly linked up in your Disney account. From there, download the My Disney Experience Mobile App (if you haven’t already) and set up a MagicMobile pass. Add that pass to your digital wallet. Easy peasy, right?
