Since I have only one day at MK, I was planning on staying from open to close. Where are the best places to cool off for a while? Are most of the ride lines shaded or indoors? Just about a month left before I arrive!! Thanks again for all your help!

    Hi Jessica!

Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel!

There are many ways to cool off in the Magic Kingdom park - I personally think that enjoying the attractions is one of the best ways to cool down.  Once you are in the line inside the buildings, you will be cooler, and many of the external queueing areas are shaded, or have fans to cool you down.  I love to enjoy the Walt Disney World Railroad as a way, not only to get around the park, but it provides entertainment and an opportunity to sit down in a shaded seat.  You can just do a whole circle of the park, and get back off where you started from, if you wish. Another good attraction that rarely has any waiting time is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover, which will give you a breezy excursion through Tomorrowland, all while you are sitting down.  This is one of my favourite attractions at the Magic Kingdom park.

You might also consider making a lunch reservation so you can have a break for a longer time to enjoy something to eat inside, to re-charge your energy. All dining reservations can be made online, or by calling 407 939 3463.  Also, I would recommend taking several breaks for refreshments, sitting inside if you can find a table.

If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me - I would be happy to help you plan your magical vacation!
