If I have a one day Disney ticket that was gifted to me, can I still apply it towards an annual pass and use that as my “down payment” ? Thank you in advance.

Hi there, Samantha! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question.

How wonderful to have received a ticket to the Disneyland Resort as a gift! As long as the ticket had an original monetary value, meaning it wasn’t a “comped” or complimentary ticket, then you are able to put the value of that ticket toward the purchase of an Annual Passport. Keep in mind, however, that your one-day ticket still needs to be valid in order to upgrade - it cannot be expired and it must have a valid admission remaining. So if you plan to use the one-day ticket to visit the parks, you must upgrade to an Annual Passport by the end of that day. Simply stop by a ticket booth at the parks and a friendly Cast Member will be glad to help you out.

You will want to research the different types of Annual Passports available in advance. Be sure to compare blockout dates, discounts, and whether parking and Disney MaxPass are included. If you will be buying a passport only available to southern California residents, make sure you have your valid government-issued ID on-hand to prove residency. Then be ready to experience all the joy and magic of the Happiest Place on Earth all year long!

    See ya real soon!
