We only have ONE day available to visit WDW in March 2018. What are the "must-do" activities, attractions, and parks for a family coming to WDW for the first time? (My daughter is five years old.) Thank you!

    Hi Lora,

How exciting to be planning your first trip to Walt Disney World. I am happy to help you think through how to plan this magical time!

First, I suggest that you view the Walt Disney World planning video. This will show you what is happening in each of the four Walt Disney World theme parks. I believe that every family is different, and different theme parks and attractions will appeal to different traveling parties. That said, I typically suggest that first-time visitors to Walt Disney World visit the Magic Kingdom. It was the first Disney theme park in Florida, and is the place that most guests think of when they think of Walt Disney World.

There are many things to do at Magic Kingdom! You might want to check out the many different character greetings available. From Mickey Mouse to Disney Princesses, there are many characters to meet. You could even consider doing some character dining, at which you can meet characters while enjoying a delicious meal! For a 5-year-old, you will likely want to spend some time in Fantasyland. In this land, you can find classic attractions such as it's a small world, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, and Peter Pan's Flight.

I also recommend that you take a look at the planning page for Walt Disney World with young children. This page is full of tips for planning a Walt Disney World vacation with a little one.

I would love you help you plan more Lora; however, I am limited in the amount of space I have to answer. Please do write back if you have any further questions!
