Is there some one who can assist my family and I on planning our Disney Vacation? We know what we would like to do however some of the tickets and what we need to purchase is confusing.

    Hello Lindsey!

I am so happy you have found your way to planDisney! Our knowledgeable panelists are here to answer all your questions and provide personalized tips and advice for your Disney vacation!

The first thing I do while planning is deciding when to travel. Many Guests can only visit when their children are off from school, while others try avoiding the summer months. I have friends who only visit during the holidays and some Guests wait for special offers to come out. Remember that the magic is waiting for you at the Walt Disney World Resort throughout the year, so choose the time that is right for your family.

If this is your first time visiting, I suggest booking a vacation package including a 7-night stay at a Disney Resort hotel and 5-day theme park tickets. Purchasing 5-day tickets will allow you to visit each of the four theme parks and return to Magic Kingdom Park for a second day – I always recommend planning two days for this iconic park! I do not feel that add-on options like Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus are a good idea for first-time visitors. Explore each park as much as you can and save park hopping for other visits when you already know your must-do attractions and experiences at each destination.

Staying at a Disney Resort hotel will allow you to enjoy benefits including complementary transportation to the parks and to and from Orlando International Airport with Disney’s Magical Express. There are several magical hotels to choose from and your final choice will probably depend on the size of your party, your budget, and personal preferences and needs. Are there children traveling with you? Is your travel party multigenerational? Is staying closer to the theme parks important? Our panelists here at planDisney can give you advice to select the best hotel for your family, and you can book a vacation package online, by calling a magical vacation planner at (704) 939-1936 or contacting your travel professional. After making reservations, be sure to link the confirmation number to your Disney account to start planning other details of your visit with My Disney Experience, and don’t forget to download the My Disney Experience app to your mobile device to have easy access to your reservations and plans anytime, anywhere.

It was a pleasure answering your first question, Lindsey. I hope this helps you start planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and that you come back to visit us soon for more tips and advice.

    Best magical wishes,
