We only have one afternoon/ evening to visit MK. ( January 2022). Do we have to leave immediately at closing time, or is there a buffer where we can leisurely walk towards the exit and shop. Not staying on Disney property

    Hi Nancy,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us with your question about Theme Park Hours.  I am so glad to see that you are planning on visiting Walt Disney World Resort early next year, one day at Disney will still be magical!

Once Theme Parks have officially closed, guests are able to finish up what they are doing and then exit the Theme Park.  When the Theme Parks close, there is no need to rush, casually head toward the front of the Theme Park.  Cast Members will be there guiding guests to the nearest exit, be mindful of their instructions and take your cues from them.  I like booking a late Advanced Dining Reservation for that very reason, once we are finished or meal, leaving an almost empty Magic Kingdom Park, or any Theme Park is very cool and not many guests get to have this experience.  I have gotten some incredible photos of my daughter in front of Cinderella Castle at night with very few guests in the background.

I hope you have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Nancy.  If you have any other questions as your visit approaches please come back to planDisney again.  We are always happy to help.
