Is there a way one adult can ride a big ride and then watch the child while the other parent can ride? Kinda handoff

    Hi Debra!

It sounds like you are getting ready for an incredible Walt Disney World Resort vacation with your family and I'm happy to help you with your question! I have two little ones of my own and my littlest one isn't quite tall enough to enjoy all of the "big kid" attractions yet. I can assure you from my family's experience that you won't miss any of the fun because you are traveling with a little Mouseketeer!

Rider Switch is a fantastic system where families traveling with little ones can enjoy all of the attractions on everyone's "must-do" list, even if your little one isn't tall enough for everything. When using Rider Switch, your entire family, including your little one, will head to the attraction entrance and let the attraction Cast Member know that you would like to use Rider Switch. The Cast Member will direct the first parent into the attraction queue to enjoy the ride and grant a Rider Switch entitlement to the other parent. That parent is then free to enjoy other areas of the theme park with your little one. It helps everyone in the family have a good theme park day when little ones aren't required to wait in queues for attractions they won't be riding!

Your Rider Switch entitlement will work like a FastPass+ reservation and will allow the parent who hasn't yet enjoyed the attraction to ride it using the FastPass+ queue during your entitlement's specified time. You will redeem your Rider Switch entitlement during your Rider Switch window by touching your admission card or MagicBand to the FastPass+ queue touchpoint, while your partner and your little one are free to explore the theme park together! You can check out the Rider Switch webpage for detailed information about using this system.

Rider Switch entitlements are electronic and are attached to your My Disney Experience account, so I recommend that you download the My Disney Experience mobile app because it's the best way to view and manage your Rider Switch entitlements, as well as your FastPass+ reservations and dining reservations, during your vacation! Let us know if you have additional questions as you continue planning. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
