Hi Susan! Welcome back to planDisney.
As the residents of Black Spire Outpost on the
planet Batuu would say, “bright suns!” I’m so glad you’ve stopped by with your question about a visit to Savi’s Gatherers. Building a custom lightsaber at Savi’s Workshop is one of my very favorite experiences at the Walt Disney World Resort right now. When I activated the kyber crystal in mine, I could feel the Force flowing, and it actually brought tears to my eyes.
I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble making a reservation at
Savi's Workshop for your husband and son. Due to the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, reservations are a little trickier than usual these days, as physical distancing requirements reduce the number of people inside a restaurant or experience. Just as the members of the Resistance show persistence in battling the dark side, my advice to you is to be persistent! Keep checking for reservations – you never know when another Guest will cancel, making space for you.
The current window for Savi’s Workshop reservations opens 60 days in advance of your arrival date if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, or 60 days from the date you’d like to reserve if you’re staying off-property. The information you’re seeing online about a 180-day booking window is now out of date; it used to be that dining and some enchanted extras were available at 180 days, but that is not the case during the phased reopening.
Susan, I am sending pixie-dusted wishes that spots become available for Savi’s Workshop. I highly recommend a visit to
Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities during your visit; this shop is filled with relics from across the Star Wars universe and is a must-visit for Star Wars fans. Though it’s not the same experience as Savi’s Workshop, you may also purchase lightsabers there, including replicas of some characters’ sabers.
I’m raising a cup of
Blue Milk to your Star Wars adventures!
May the Force be with you,
Robyn
