Once you are in the virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance, do you need to stay in the park until your boarding group is up or can you go to a different park and just return fo your group boarding?

Bright suns, Shirley! You must be excited about your upcoming journey to Black Spire Outpost tomorrow! The Resistance is anxiously looking for recruits in their mission to fight the First Order in Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. I can assure you that the epic battle you'll experience in this exciting new ride, is unlike anything you've ever experienced at Walt Disney World Resort.

It's no surprise that this is a very popular attraction with high demand, so Walt Disney World has been assigning guests to Boarding Groups. Although Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is not currently set up for FastPass+, the Boarding Groups allows guests to enter a "Virtual Queue" and return at a designated time later in the day.  I spoke to a Cast Member at Guest Services earlier today, and she said you can leave Disney's Hollywood Studios and hop over to another Park while you wait as long as you return within two hours after your Boarding Group is called. Just remember that to initially join a Boarding Group, everyone in your traveling party who intends to ride needs to be in the Park. I recommend enabling push notifications on your mobile device for the My Disney Experience app, as this is how you'll receive information regarding your Boarding Group status. Once your group is called, you'll have a two-hour window of time to return to the physical queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. There hasn't been any indication of how long this system will be in place, but my guess is that is will be temporary.

While you're there, I recommend trying a glass of Batuu’s legendary blue or green milk (I'm personally on team blue milk)! May the spires keep you, Shirley!

Meet the Panelist: Eean, Pennsylvania

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
