Once the magic bands are out of the testing phase, will we still be able to request a KTTW card at check in to use instead? We don't own a smart phone and would feel more comfortable doing things old school.

    Hi, Jaynee!

    Great question!

Not to worry; when traveling to Walt Disney World, Guests can chose whether or not to participate in MyMagic+. They have the choice of using a MagicBand or a card, and whether they want to receive any marketing information from Disney. This means that your Key to the World Card will act as it always has, but you will be able to utilize touch capability instead of swiping or inserting it into your WDW Resort hotel room's lock.

This "old school" approach will enable you to enjoy the convenience of the new KTTWC (touch entry to your room, for example) without worrying about technological advances that just don't interest you. You can still charge to your room account, access entry to your room and utilize a Disney Dining Plan (should you wish to use one) as you would have prior to the introduction of MagicBands.

Hope that helps, Jaynee! Be sure to send more questions as you think of them, too; we love to help!
