Welcome, Donna!
Thanks for swinging by planDisney with your thoughtful question. I appreciate that you’re thinking ahead and wanting to understand the logistics of navigating around the vast property of the
Walt Disney World Resort. You’re smart to plan these details before your arrival so that your family knows what to expect and you can proactively make any arrangements needed to ensure a smooth trip.
Good news! I just confirmed the exact time for you using pinpoints on a map, as I am familiar with this route and wanted to have some clear data for you. It’s just about a three-minute walk from the drop-off point at the Transportation and Ticket Center and the entrance to the monorail, plus any time to go through security checks. It’s all very close together, and you can see the monorail sign clearly overhead when you arrive. The Transportation and Ticket Center is the central hub for getting to
Magic Kingdom Park – it has bus bays,
a sprawling parking lot (with courtesy tram service), a ferry terminal, and access to the monorail. Whether you choose to arrive at Magic Kingdom Park via monorail or ferryboat, it will be a short journey with Cinderella Castle in sight as you make your magical approach!
I adore the
many transportation options around the Walt Disney World Resort, Donna. I just returned from a trip where I brought my mom for the first time in over 30 years, and she continued to be in awe of the fun ways to get around during our stay. The monorail and boats around the Seven Seas Lagoon are practically an attraction on their own! The gorgeous scenery around the resort and the many efficient ways to travel make navigating to your next destination a lot of fun.
Please let us know what other questions you have as you look forward to your upcoming trip. I hope your family has an incredibly magical time!
Wishing you smooth travels,
Amy
