Just talking about the dining options at the
Disneyland Resort makes me hungry! There are just so many exciting experiences to be had and delicious dishes to choose from!
Dining reservations open up 60 days out, so you are within your window to start making those plans. While the
Disneyland Mobile App can do many things, dining reservations can only be held in one account at this point, so you are not able to link the reservation to multiple Guests. My best tip here would be to set up a good, old-fashioned calendar invite with the date, time, and location so that while the plans won't be in their "My Day" schedule in the app, your party will be alerted to any upcoming reservations as they move through their park day. Not ideal, but hopefully you'll be floating on pixie dust by then and won't mind the inconvenience!
My favorite time of day to plan for a dining reservation is early afternoon. Whether I'm with my family or with friends, we are usually ready for a little reprieve from the sun and the park hustle and bustle by then. You'd be surprised what 45 minutes in some cool air conditioning can do for a second park wind! It can also be nice to step out of the parks and into one of the Disneyland Resort Hotels or a restaurant in the
Downtown Disney District for lunch. The
GCH Craftsman Bar is a beautiful spot overlooking the pool at the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa with a mouthwatering menu, especially the Black Truffle-charred Cauliflower Grilled Cheese Sandwich!
Goofy's Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel is a character meal that is more like an epic dance party ... perfect for the young AND young at heart! I recently enjoyed breakfast here with a full table of adults and we had a BLAST - trying everything Mickey-shaped is a rite of passage!
If you are looking for a reservation last minute, definitely take a peek at the
Mobile Dine Walk-Up list once you scan into the parks. Select restaurants will have same-day reservations available, and you can add your name to the list directly from the app! When you open the app, click the "+" along the bottom navigation bar. Choose "Check Dining Availability", enter your party size, the date, and "Now" as the time to see availability for the day. You'll receive a notification once your table is ready so you can enjoy some attractions in the area while you wait. Oga's Cantina using the Mobile Dine Walk-Up!
