Greetings Barbi Jo and welcome back to planDisney!
Thank you for your question about transportation at Walt Disney World! Complimentary bus, boat, monorail and Disney Skyliner service are all still going to be available for all Guests with the exception of the changes that will be taking place only at Disney Springs.
Barbi Jo, the information that we have received for the bus transportation and the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs is that each Guest will be asked to show a valid Disney Resort hotel room key, a dining reservation or an experience reservation for the Resort that they are visiting. If any additional information is added or that current information is updated, we will keep you let you know here at planDisney.
Barbi Jo, if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will be able to utilize the Disney Springs bus and River Cruise to
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-French Quarter or
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside just like you have always done.
If you are staying off-site, one option would be to start your trip to the Port Orleans resorts from a theme park where you have already parked your vehicle or been dropped off in order to utilize the theme park bus system to one of the Port Orleans resorts. You could also make a dining reservation at Boatwright’s Dining Hall at Port Orleans-Riverside. This would allow you to use the Disney Springs transportation including the Sassagoula River Cruise to make the trip to Riverside for your dining reservation. I would suggest pairing this option with a Mickey shaped beignet desert at
Scat Cat’s Club Cafe at the French Quarter, which is just a short, scenic walk along the river from Boatwright’s!
Barbi Jo, the new Disney Springs bus and boat rules are set to begin on June 28, 2026. I’m sure your next adventure will still include one of your magical side trips to Port Orleans! Have a great time and don’t forget to enjoy a Mickey Bar or two!
