Since onboard credit is non refundable, can I add cash or a Disney gift card when I get on the ship so I can get the unspent money back?

Ahoy Amanda - welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for swimming by with your question for our team of panelists. We love to help Guests just like you plan your very own, very magical, Disney Cruise Line adventures!

You are correct that Onboard Credit is nonrefundable and nontransferable. That means that the amount of Onboard Credit linked to your Stateroom must be used during your sailing. Any Onboard Credit that is not used by the end of your sailing will be forfeited.

Amanda, I'm not sure I understand what you're suggesting. You are welcome to use cash or a Disney Gift Card to pay for the charges on your Stateroom folio, or you can have your folio charged to the credit card on file for your Stateroom. Neither of these options would in any way allow you to get a refund of Onboard Credit available on your account.

I hope this information helps your planning efforts – stop by any time with additional questions you may have! Oh, and before I forget, make sure to check out all the magical excitement surrounding Disney Cruise Line’s Silver Anniversary at Sea!

    Bon voyage!
