We’re oming for our first visit on a Sunday in Oct. and are staying off property. I booked a character breakfast 8am @ Goofy’s kitchen. how much time should i allow to park & get to breakfast, & how to get to breakfast from the garage?

Hiya, Valerie! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I 'm so excited for you to experience your first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth this weekend!

I’m even more excited to hEAR that you have a reservation for breakfast at Goofy’s Kitchen, located inside the Disneyland Hotel -- you’re going to love this delicious and entertaining Character Dining experience! I’m happy to report that your parking experience will also be enjoyable – as a Guest of Goofy’s Kitchen, you’ll receive complimentary 3-hour parking at Disneyland Hotel included with your validation. You can choose between self-parking or valet parking. Just keep in mind that you’ll be charged for anything over the 3-hour period included with your validation. So, if you plan on heading to the parks after breakfast, I’d recommend re-parking at the Mickey & Friends or Pixar Pals Parking Structures, which are just across Magic Way from the Disneyland Hotel.

Or, if you prefer to park in one spot for the entire day, I recommend heading directly to the Pixar Pals Parking Structure. You can park there for a daily rate, then, head to Level 2, (the Coco level), to use the new walkway connecting the structures to the Downtown Disney District. You’ll see the Disneyland Hotel to your right-hand side. I’d estimate that this walk will take you about 10 minutes. If you choose to park at the Disneyland Hotel instead, you can expect a 3-5 minute walk from the self-park area to Goofy’s Kitchen. Or, you have the option to valet park, too, which would have you at Goofy’s Kitchen within about 2 minutes.

Once you’re parked in the right spot and ready to head to the parks for the day, you can take the monorail from the Downtown Disney District station directly into Disneyland Park, or you can walk through the Downtown Disney District instead, where you can access both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. There is also a tram available to transport you from the Parking Structures to The Esplanade connecting both parks.

I hope this helps you plan your magical morning… you’re going to love taking dance breaks with Goofy and his fabulous friends throughout your meal! Don’t forget to bring your autograph book and pen (or purchase one at the Disneyland Hotel gift shop, Disney’s Fantasia Shop) to capture all those memorable moments!

Wishing you a pixie-dusted family vacation to remember!
