Hi there, Emily!
Welcome back to planDisney! How fun that you will be spending some time with your sister so soon! My sister and I just went to see Hamilton together, and it was so fun to get some quality time with her. I'm so excited for you to channel your inner Schuyler Sisters together, so let's get to it!
If you're not planning on visiting Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, you can't go wrong with an evening at
Disney Springs.
The BOATHOUSE has one of my favorite menus, and if you're looking for some fun sisterly bonding, did you know that
Levi's will allow you to customize denim? Whether it's jeans, overalls, or a denim jacket, I can think of nothing more fun than twinning with my adult sister (although this was our nightmare as teens).
If you'd like to stay close to Disney Springs, I recommend
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa where Guests are connected to Disney Springs by a pedestrian bridge, or if boat life is more your style, Guests of Disney's Port Orleans Resorts and Disney's Old Key West Resort have access to
water transportation between Disney Springs and their Resort hotel.
Since
fireworks are on your must-do list but you won't have access to theme park tickets, I have great news for you! Walt Disney World's nighttime spectaculars can be viewed from several Disney Resort hotels. A dinner reservation at Disney's Contemporary Resort's
California Grill, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort's
'Ohana, or Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa's
Narcoosee's would not only feature views of Happily Ever After but include a memorable meal as well. If you're hoping for views without a dining reservation, I suggest heading to
Disney's BoardWalk (If you're staying near Disney Springs, just catch a bus from there to one of the BoardWalk Resorts) where the path to EPCOT's International Gateway (especially the bridge connecting walkways from Disney's BoardWalk Inn and Disney's Beach Club Resort) will give you a practically unobstructed view of the illuminated sky.
Personally, my favorite view of
Happily Ever After is from the viewing deck of
Disney's Contemporary Resort, so if a stay there is within the budget, I know you won't regret it. Access to the
Resort Monorail would not only give the two of you incredible fireworks views but also the opportunity to easily explore the neighboring resorts and their lounges afterward.
I hope this information is helpful, Emily, and that you are able to make lifelong magical memories with your sister in Orlando. If you need any additional suggestions for your evening,
I'm happy to help! Hakuna Matata,
Lizzie
