OMG! My hubby agreed that a trip in January is NEEDED! Surprising kids for Christmas! Cor. Spr. or PO Rvrsd? Any suggestions on which is better? (mom/dad, 2 girls 15& 9). Is one a shorter ride to parks, etc.?) SO excited! (108 days to go). Thanks!

    Hi Melissa,

What a fantastic Christmas surprise for your family! A magical Walt Disney World vacation is always a great plan for some much "needed" time away with family.

While I have stayed at both Disney's Coronado Springs Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and had wonderful stays at both, Disney's Port Orleans Resort is my one of my favorites. I absolutely love the relaxed southern charm in the theming of this resort. Boatwright's Dining Hall and the Riverside Mill offer delicious dining options and with a short walk over to the French Quarter side, you can try some classic beignets (another must-do of mine) at Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory. Another great aspect of this resort is its proximity to Downtown Disney for some great shopping and dining options.

In regards to transportation times, it is kind of a wash. Typically, Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside is a shorter ride to Magic Kingdom and Epcot, while Disney's Coronado Springs Resort tends to be a shorter ride to Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom. However, the differences is only a matter of a few minutes for either.

I hope you have a wonderful time and I have been able to offer some insight and opinion so that you can make the best decision for your family. I honestly think you will be happy at either resort. Have fun!
