My oldest son has Autism and a few other diagnoses. Just wondering if there are any passes to help him not wait in lines because this is a huge struggle for him.

    Hi Amy,

You will be thrilled to know that Walt Disney World is making enhancements to their line queue's so that waiting in line is no longer an unpleasant task.

For example, at the new Dumbo attraction, there are TWO Dumbo rides in the new Fantasyland and when you arrive, you can actually pick up a pager and then your child can play on the indoor playground while parents can sit down and watch them have fun. Your pager will beep when it's your time to ride. This is especially helpful for all children who have special needs and difficulty waiting in line.

There are also many other attractions that add entertainment in the queue that makes waiting in line almost as fun as the ride itself! Toy Story Mania has an excellent ride queue with lots of entertainment along the way. Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor also plays a video clip in the lobby. Many of the attractions also have indoor queues, so you're not waiting in the heat.

There is a Guest Assistance Card available for guests with special needs, but it doesn't necessarily result in not having to waiting in line, rather it's designed to help ensure all guests are as comfortable as possible while waiting. If you feel your son needs a Guest Assistance Card, you can have your doctor write a note, explaining his condition and any special needs he requires as a result. You can then show the doctor's note to a Cast Member at Guest Services and they can issue a Guest Assistance Card.

    Magically,
    Stacy
