Welcome to planDisney, Ann, and thanks for popping in with your question!
Popcorn buckets are always a favorite for my family during our trips to the
Walt Disney World Resort, much like the refillable resort mugs. To answer your question, the refillable popcorn buckets you purchase at Walt Disney World can only be refilled during the length of your current visit. Unfortunately, you can't bring them back on a future trip for refills. However, they do make a great keepsake to remind you of the fun memories from your past trips—I’m sure yours has been a magical addition to your movie nights at home over the past couple of years!
Another reason to consider leaving your old popcorn bucket at home is that there are always new and exciting souvenir buckets available in the parks. On my last visit, I spotted some fantastic options, like an Alien Pizza Planet Truck popcorn bucket at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios and a Pumbaa bucket at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom. I would have loved to bring them home, but I had already picked up a bucket earlier in my stay, immediately after entering the Magic Kingdom!
If I may butter you up with a little tip: Bring a carabiner or two with you. You can clip your popcorn bucket to your backpack or stroller, which frees up your hands for other snacks, like a
DOLE Whip, Mickey Pretzel, Mickey Ice Cream bar, or a Warm Cinnamon Roll from
Gaston’s Tavern! I could name a lot more, but you get the point!
I’d also like to suggest a couple of spots that offer a unique popcorn experience. At Magic Kingdom Park, swing by the
Main Street Confectionery. There, you'll find the Kernel Kitchen, where you can customize your popcorn with various flavors, chocolate drizzle, and even a mix of candies, perfect for creating a salty and sweet treat. At EPCOT, the
popcorn cart in the Canada Pavilion offers Maple Popcorn that is simply divine and worth the stop! My fellow planDisney panelist
Candace W. approves!
I hope this answers your question, Ann! If you have any other questions, would like other Disney snacking suggestions, or want some dining recommendations,
submit me a question!
Cheers,
Brent
