My older daughter and I have days left on Military tickets. I want to buy my foster daughter a Florida Resident ticket (age3-9) for our upcoming visit, but it keeps giving me an error. I’m a verified Florida Resident in my profile.

Hi Christi, and welcome to planDisney!

You've wished upon a star, and your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is almost here! I'm so excited for you to share the magic with your family. I'm sure you can't wait to get there, so we'd better get started spit-spot!

It sounds like you already have a My Disney Experience account, so you should be able to access the Florida Resident ticket options available for those of us lucky enough to live here in the Sunshine State. I do have a couple of thoughts for trying to get that order for your daughter's ticket to go through. First, I'd double-check to make sure you're signed in to your My Disney Experience account. I've had occasions before when I thought I was logged in, but it turned out I wasn't. Next, let's check the language setting on the Walt Disney World website. Believe it or not, I've seen it do this weird thing where it will switch to Canada or U.K. instead of United States. You can check that by looking just above the menu bar on the website. You'll see the search box in the upper right corner, then the language setting and the sign-in prompt. If the language setting doesn't say "United States (English)," click on it to change it. If that was the issue, it might keep you from ordering Florida Resident tickets.

One other thing you might try if you can't make it work on your computer is to purchase your ticket from the My Disney Experience app on your phone. You can do that by hitting the menu icon (three lines) on the bottom right of your screen, then selecting "Tickets and Passes." You should see the tickets you already have there. To buy a new ticket, press the "+" sign in the upper right corner, then "Buy Tickets." Select "Theme Park Tickets," and hopefully that will give you the option to buy Florida Resident tickets.

Christi, if none of these ideas work, you can call Guest Services and a Cast Member can help resolve your issue. I'd start with the number listed under "New Tickets."

On behalf of planDisney, I thank you for your family's service, Christi. I hope this helps you plan a magical visit to Walt Disney World with your beautiful daughters. Please come see us again soon if you have any more questions. We love to help!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
