How old does someone in your party have to be in order to have charging privileges on the magic band?

    Greetings, Sarah!

Welcome back to planDisney, friend! I hope that you and your Ohana are getting excited about your upcoming trip to The Most Magical Place on Earth. Your summertime adventure will be here before you know it.

One of my favorite features of the MagicBand is the ability to charge food and merchandise purchases back to my Walt Disney World Resort hotel room. The convenience of completing a transaction with the tap of my wrist rather than searching for a wallet in my theme park bag makes the checkout process so efficient. When it comes to who you can give this convenient privilege to, it is a matter of personal comfort and preference. You can give charging access to any Guest that is on your Walt Disney World Resort hotel room reservation. Just stop by the front desk of your hotel to add a PIN number to the MagicBand that you would like to have charging ability. This is a great option if you are traveling with teens that may be on their own for dinner while you enjoy World Showcase or head over to Disney Springs. I have used this option when traveling with my teens and it worked out great for our family. I do want to mention that you cannot set a spending limit in advance, so conversations about souvenir budgets are always a good idea. Each Guest will be able to keep track of their charges in the My Disney Experience mobile app as they go. This is an incredibly helpful tool to assist everyone with staying within their spending limits. You can locate this feature on your Walt Disney World Resort hotel screen of the mobile app. There will be a bright blue folder icon, labeled "View Charges". All purchases will be listed here within a few hours, and most in real-time.

If you are on the fence about allowing charging access, Disney Gift Cards are also a great option. These gift cards are easy to replace if lost or stolen, just be sure to snap a photo of the card number for reference. You can even use them for Mobile Food & Beverage orders. I use this option for my younger children so they can have their "own money" without having to worry about giving access or carrying cash that is not as easily replaced.

I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
