I have old magic bands(not plus) from when we went a few years ago. They were linked to my dads account, but he’s remove them so I can put them on my own account. When I try it gives me an error? There is no button in the back to reset it, how do I fix?

    Hello there, Randi!

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation will be here before you know it. Like the White Rabbit from Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, I’d be happy to walk you through what you can do with your MagicBands ahead of your trip so you aren’t late for this very important date.

I’m sorry this isn’t the news you were looking for, but once a MagicBand is assigned to a Guest, it cannot be reassigned to another person. I recommend that you continue to use whatever MagicBand was associated with your name during your most recent trip. I’m not sure if this is the case, but hopefully, the old MagicBands from your trip were only managed by your Dad and not assigned to him. If this is the case, you'll be able to use whatever MagicBands were assigned to your account.

To see what MagicBands are assigned to your account, I suggest opening the My Disney Experience mobile app and selecting the three horizontal bars in the bottom right corner of the screen. On the next screen, select “MagicBands and More” and select “View MagicBands” listed under your name. Ideally, you’ll see your old MagicBand appear, and you’ll have the option to “Activate/Deactivate” the MagicBand if you’d like to use it for your next trip. If you need additional assistance, I recommend giving one of the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ Cast Members a call to see if they could walk you through your specific situation.

Did you know that besides MagicBands you can use Disney MagicMobile Service on the My Disney Experience app to enter the theme parks and check in at Lightning Lane entrances? You can add the service to your mobile device by selecting the three horizontal bars at the bottom of the screen followed by“Disney MagicMobile” to set up your pass.

May the magic be with you!
