I have some old magic bands from a previous trip. We're visiting next week and need to know how to link those bands to our new tickets.

    Hi Sheryl! Welcome to planDisney!

I know you must be thrilled to return to the Walt Disney World Resort soon! One of the best things about the Most Magical Place on Earth is that there are always new and exciting things to experience and each trip is unique. No matter when you last visited, there are lots of new memories waiting for you!

MagicBands are my favorite Disney fashion accessories! They make getting around the theme parks a breeze and they are super cute. What's not to love? The first thing to keep in mind is that the battery life of a MagicBand is around two years. I've had some last longer, but just in case your previous visit was many years ago, you'll want to know that.

Linking your old MagicBands to your new Walt Disney World theme park tickets is as simple as making sure that both are linked to the same My Disney Experience account and making sure the MagicBands still say "Active." To check, log in to your My Disney Experience account and choose "My MagicBands and Cards" from the My Disney Experience drop-down menu on the main Walt Disney World website. Look for your MagicBands and they should say, "Active." If not, you can select the button to "Activate" them.

I hope this helps, Sheryl! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
