Can you use the old magic bands at the parks even though they have created new ones?

    Greetings, Valerie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing us another great question.

Absolutely! Even though the MagicBand 2 is now available, your original (I like to say vintage or classic) MagicBands will still work if they are within the estimated 2-year lifespan. I have a very special one I plan on using as long as I can and it should work the same until the battery in it finally dies.

I will also admit I am excited to get a MagicBand 2 to see how they differ and because I think the new MagicKeepers  look awesome. Or even just changing out the centers on the new MagicBands once I have more than one.

Have a wonderful trip, Valerie! If we are able to help you out with anything else, please let us know!

    Magical Wishes,

Hi-ya, Pals! I'm Lauren, a wife and mother of three who's enjoyed many special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort with my family and friends. From graduations to birthdays, and even our Fairy Tale Honeymoon we’ve loved celebrating at the most Magical Place on Earth. I now have pre-teens who check wait times in the My Disney Experience App just for fun, so I look for any excuse to return "home" often and would love to help you plan a little extra Pixie Dust for your next magical adventure.
