Can we use our old magic bands to gain entry into the parks once we get established at the Resort or do we have to buy new ones

Hey there, Thomas, and welcome to planDisney! I should start by warning you that I am a MagicBand lover who has inadvertently amassed a small collection over the years. Since you have some time before your Disney Vacation, I’m going to take this chance to convince you that you need a new MagicBand for your upcoming visit. Kidding…Not Kidding?

Yes, your MagicBands from your previous Walt Disney World visits will work on your upcoming vacation! I have some trusty MagicBands that have been going strong for years now! However, I still find a reason to grab a new MagicBand each time I head to the Mouse’s House. MagicBands seem to come with superpowers, from accessing Lightning Lane Queue Entrances to charging purchases to your hotel folio. For me, they are a must-have Disney Vacation accessory.

And I want you to know that you do not have to wait until you formally check in to your Disney Resorts Collection Hotel to gain entry into the Theme Parks. If you are planning to enter the Theme Parks on your arrival date, your privileges begin that day regardless of your check-in status. You can start your vacation the moment your feet enter the Walt Disney World bubble!

I hope this helps, Thomas! If you have more questions while planning your Disney Vacation, come back by and ask me. After all, you’ve got a friend in me!
