Hi there, Cheryl. A warm welcome to planDisney. I love using my MagicBand+ at the Disneyland Resort and I'm thrilled to help you with your question.
There's nothing quite like the convenience of using my
MagicBand+ to scan into the parks, tap for entrance to Lightning Lanes and have my Disney PhotoPass photographer tap to make sure I get all of my digital downloads. The MagicBand+ is the only type of band that is supported at the Disneyland Resort, so as long as your old MagicBand that you used at Walt Disney World is also a MagicBand+, you can absolutely use it at Disneyland. To use your existing MagicBand+, you will need to first disconnect it from your My Disney Experience app and then link it to your Disneyland ticket. This can easily be done in the
Disneyland app by tapping the three horizontal bars at the bottom right of the screen, then tapping the "MagicBand+" tile. If you encounter any challenges, you can also
visit the site for support.
In addition to the things I've already shared that you can accomplish with your MagicBand+, one of my favorite things to do is use it to
hunt for bounties in Batuu. If you haven't done this in Walt Disney World (or even if you have), I highly recommend it. It's a fun activity for the whole family in the immersive
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. It's also worth mentioning that the MagicBand+ interacts with both of the new nighttime spectaculars at the Disneyland Resort. You'll feel the haptic vibrations and see the dancing lights that are coordinated with both spectaculars.
Cheryl, I hope this is helpful for your upcoming trip to the Happiest Place on Earth. Come back and let us know if you have other questions as you continue to plan. We're here, and love to help! Wishing you happy planning and a magical stay!
