I have an old magic band linked to an inactive account and I am trying to link it to my new account for an upcoming trip how do I do this

Hi there, Berta! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for bringing us your question!

Unfortunately, MagicBands that have already been linked to an account in the past can't be linked to another account. If you really want to use that old MagicBand during your upcoming trip, what you can do is call the My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ hotline so a Cast Member can help you merge your inactive account with your active account! This way, every MagicBand and Key to the World card assigned to your name will live under the same My Disney account.

I actually had to do this once when my dad created a new account for himself because he couldn't figure out how to retrieve his original password. We didn't call because we were already in Orlando at that point, but we visited Guest Relations on the first day of our trip and the Cast Members helped us merge his accounts AND get his password back very easily!

Berta, if for any reason a Cast Member can't merge your accounts into one, you'll have to purchase a new MagicBand+ for your magical vacation. If you don't want to do that, you can also ask for a complimentary Key to the World card at any ticketing booth or Guest Relations location too.

I sincerely hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us again. We're always available and more than happy to help here at planDisney!

    Warm hugs,

    Ana Paula
