We will be at Old Key West next week. Are the tv’s capable of supporting login to Netflix and other streaming services? Or are we able to bring our Apple TV to connect to the tvs in the room?

    Hiya Mandy!

Welcome Home and welcome to planDisney! How exciting that your vacation to Walt Disney World Resort is just around the riverbend.  You must be so excited for all of the magic that awaits you and you'll get to see the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort just before it finishes up at the end of the month. It is truly a special time to visit the parks.

Our family also loves Disney's Old Key West Resort.  In fact, it has been our home away from home for many family events and celebrations, including my honeymoon and Christmas vacations.   You are practically perfectly situated right near Disney Springs, Disney's Hollywood Studios and my personal favorite, EPCOT.

Now, Mandy, like you, I do enjoy catching up on my favorite streaming shows and my kids love watching their favorite movies on Disney+.  Unfortunately, not all of the Disney Resort television sets have been upgraded yet to support logging in to streaming devices, so I can't guarantee that your room will have an upgraded TV. However, I checked with one of my fellow planDisney panelists who recently stayed at Disney's Old Key West and confirmed - at least for her stay - the TV had indeed been upgraded and she was able to access streaming services.

So, when you arrive at your room at Old Key West, turn on your TV and see if you see "Connect My Device" at the bottom of the screen. Now, my friend and fellow panelist Amy A. is quite the whizz at digital details.  She recommends the following:
    • Click on "Connect My Device."
    • Follow the instructions on the screen to cast Netflix or other streaming services from your mobile device.
    • Log into Netflix or Disney+ or other streaming services on your phone or tablet and follow the instructions to have your Disney TV and the service on your device talk to each other seamlessly.
    • This would be a safer way to connect than logging in directly to the TV in your room.

I hope this helps you, Mandy!  If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions or Disney vacation planning questions, stop back and see me here. I'll be so happy to help you.

    See ya real soon!
