Welcome to planDisney, Diane!
Walt Disney World Resort turned 50 last October 1, and
The World's Most Magical Celebration continues through March 31, 2022. As Anna observed in Frozen 2,
some things never change, like the awe of seeing Cinderella Castle as you walk down Main Street, U.S.A., in Magic Kingdom Park. Some things, however, change drastically, like the way you access the magic of a Disney theme park. I'd love to help you navigate this whole new world of Disney magic.
Currently, valid admission, a
theme park reservation for each park day, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) are required for theme park entry. To make a theme park reservation, your ticket must be linked to your
My Disney Experience account. You can sign into your My Disney Experience account by using the same login information you used when asking this question.
Start by trying to link your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account using the ticket ID number listed on each ticket. As a helpful tool, the
linking website lets you scroll through images of various ticket types and ID numbers. You'll be asked to assign each ticket to a member of your
Family and Friends list. If you're not sure which grandkids will be using the tickets, you can assign them all to yourself and reassign them later, as long as they have not been partially used.
If the purchase date on your tickets is before 2010, Cast Member assistance is needed to modernize the magic in your tickets, Diane. A helpful Cast Member at (407) 939-4357 is available between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. EST.
Once your tickets are successfully linked to your My Disney Experience account, you can check the
theme park reservation availability calendar and make theme park reservations using the
Disney Park Pass system. You can make reservations for anyone on your Family and Friends list.
Let's fast forward to the part where you enter a theme park, Diane. To tap in at park entry you need something that connects the tickets housed in your My Disney Experience account with the light-up Mickey touchpoint. Using the
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can download a Disney MagicMobile pass to eligible iPhones, Apple Watches, or Google Pay-enabled Android phones. A
MagicBand or
MagicBand+, linked to your My Disney Experience account, is another valid option. You could also stop by a Guest Relations window located outside the entrance of each theme park for an admission card, which is roughly the size of a credit card. Valid ID must be shown.
