Ok so i have read and read and am still confused about the character dining experience. I know that you can go to the hotels to have B, L or D with them. But are reservations really necassary or can you just go to the hotels and get to eat.

    Hi Shannon!

Character Dining Experiences are very popular.  It's a great way to relax, enjoy good food, and interact with the characters all at the same time.  In my opinion, you absolutely need to make an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) for all Character Dining Experiences.  In fact, I think these days you need to make an ADR for any Table Service restaurant, regardless of whether there are characters there or not.  ADRs can be made by calling (407) WDW-DINE or online here.
