Making advanced dining reservations is an important step in planning any Disney Parks vacation, but the Disneyland Resort does it a little differently than the Walt Disney World Resort. Here at the Happiest Place on Earth,
dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance regardless of where you are lodging or whether you are staying overnight at all. Furthermore, you will make reservations one day at a time as each date reaches the 60-day mark. I recommend making dining reservations for character meals, dining packages, and certain signature restaurants as soon as you are able, but you will notice that dining reservations here are usually a lot easier to secure than at the Walt Disney World Resort. Some restaurants will even have same day availability. So if you find yourself wanting to sit down for a meal but you don’t have a reservation, open up the
Disneyland app and see what restaurants are available that day.
Since you are researching dining options, I wanted to provide you with a few of my top picks! For character dining, I absolutely love the Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park at the Plaza Inn. The food is great, but the character interaction is even better. For dinner, I simply must eat at either Wine Country Trattoria or Blue Bayou Restaurant on every trip. Additionally, Flo’s V8 Café is our quick service go-to for every visit. Finally, if you are looking for a meal in the Downtown Disney District, my family really enjoyed Catal Restaurant for its delectable Mediterranean cuisine and some great views of the promenade below from their patio.
