Ok, crazy ?! staying at cabin at FW in Dec. Can we drive to where the laundry facilities are at to wash laundry or do we have to take a bus to get there? Is it far from cabin? Don't really want to pay to rent a golf cart just to take our laundry over? Tx!

    Candra:

    Thanks for the question!

Laundry is a serious issue in my family of six and your's is not a silly one if you're facing a mountain of it like I do most days!

There is one laundry building that services the cabins and it sits between Loops 2500 and 2700 and across the street from Loop 2600. There are actually 8 cabin loops at Fort Wilderness and if you don't request a loop near the laundry facilities, you might find yourself needing your car to get there.

When we stayed in Loop 2300 a few years back, I did have the luxury of a golf cart and was able to drive in and out of the laundry facilities fairly quickly. I remember a large concrete pad on the shoulder of the road near the pool side, but do not remember if it had designated parking spaces.... (I just parked my golf cart near the front door of the laundry building.) However, when I called the fort's front desk they assured me that they had a few parking spots near the pool (besides the laundry), so it sounds like you're good and won't have to haul a laundry basket for a mile.

If you have any more questions about Fort Wilderness, feel free to come back and visit me via my bio page! Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
