Aloha, Tonya! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with another great question.
It looks like your magical vacation is almost here! Let the final countdown to fun begin. During the phased reopening of the Walt Disney World Resort, some experiences, such as dining at
'Ohana, are not available quite yet. While we don't have an exact return date for our favorite tropical-themed dining room, I'd be happy to suggest some nearby establishments with tasty eats, South Pacific vibes, and character sightings.
Kona Cafe, 'Ohana's neighbor at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, serves Asian-inspired dishes and traditional American favorites all day long in a subtly themed South Seas environment. I love to watch the chefs at the onstage sushi bar while taking in the sights and smells of the Great Ceremonial House. The
Tambu Lounge and
Capt. Cook's are also currently available at this resort, offering delicious fare that will tide you over until our beloved 'Ohana returns.
If you were hoping to enjoy a family-style breakfast with Lilo, Stitch, and friends, an alternative could be a top of the world experience with Mickey Mouse and his pals at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at
Disney's Riviera Resort. While I love the breakfast at 'Ohana, it's tough to beat the view from Disney's newest meal with character. A perfect morning for me would be a meal here followed by a quick flight on the
Disney Skyliner to
EPCOT for park opening.
The Garden Grill Restaurant at EPCOT and Minnie's Seasonal Dine at
Hollywood & Vine at
Disney's Hollywood Studios are also currently available to Guests wishing to have a meal with their favorite Disney friends. Be sure to make an Advanced Dining Reservation, practice those selfie skills!
Tonya, I know it can be disappointing when some of our traditional vacation stops are unavailable, but there are so many fantastic dining choices to choose from throughout the theme parks and resorts. On a recent visit, my family and I discovered a new favorite restaurant that we may not have tried had we been sticking to our usuals. Be sure to keep up with the
Disney Parks Blog and the
Dining: Know Before You Go information page for the latest updates and additional restaurants that may get added to the lineup as your vacation approaches.
Thanks again for trusting us to help with your vacation planning. If there is anything else we can do before your stay begins, come see us anytime; we're happy to help!
Mahalo,
Betsy
