Welcome to planDisney, Nancy! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. It sounds like you've got your sights set on a meal at
'Ohana, which is a great choice! This beloved restaurant at the
Polynesian is known for its family-style meals, stunning views of
Magic Kingdom, and warm island hospitality where everyone is family. It's an iconic Disney dining experience!
While 'Ohana is technically not a "reservation-only" restaurant, it's definitely one of the most popular places to dine at Walt Disney World for both breakfast and dinner. Because of that, walk-up availability is very limited, especially during peak times. So while walk-ins
can happen, they're more the exception than the rule.
Your best bet is to keep checking the
My Disney Experience app frequently, even up until the day (or hour!) you're hoping to dine. Guests often change their plans, even at the last minute, and openings can pop up unexpectedly. I've had great luck finding a reservation the night before by just refreshing the app a few times!
You can also try to
join the walk-up list through the app if you're nearby. Just navigate to the restaurant's page and select "Join Walk-Up List," but keep in mind that you need to be physically close to the restaurant in order for that feature to work.
And, of course, it never hurts to stop by the host stand in person and ask if they can squeeze you in. Cast Members are wonderful about trying to help whenever they can, especially if it's a slower time of day or there's a last-minute cancellation.
I hope this answers your question, Nancy, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
