Hi Katy!
I think we must be kindred spirits! One of the main elements of my Walt Disney World planning that I love to solidify in advance is dining reservations. So you are totally speaking my love language in talking about food and specifically
'Ohana...that bread pudding, it's pure MAGIC!
There don't appear to be any refurbishments slated in September for 'Ohana at
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, so all I can say is that it is an incredibly popular restaurant and that may explain why reservations are more challenging to come by. But rest assured, checking back often is the key to securing a dining spot for that delectable, all-you-can-eat smorgasbord!
Feel free to keep checking periodically online or contact a Walt Disney World Cast Member at (407) WDW-DINE. Even while you are in one of the parks having fun, you can still be scoping out the dining scene using the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
The magic number for dining cancellations is ONE: Guests have one day before to cancel a reservation without a penalty. It may feel like cutting it close, but sometimes the day prior is the best day to grab a reservation when other Guests may be making changes to their plans.
Finally, to quote the brilliant Stitch: "'Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind." That goes for you too...we at the Disney Parks Moms Panel are here to help you every step of the way in your planning. So send us more questions as you get closer to your magical vacation!
See Ya Real Soon!
